Expanding Consciousness

Expanding Consciousness

Time can be understood as the process in which we expand our consciousness from the ideas that separate to the ideas that unify. Consciousness is a united field of awareness; it is one thing experiencing itself as everything.

Understanding the process of expanding our consciousness is useful because it helps us make sense of things, integrate experiences and information harmoniously, direct our intentions and focus in the direction of what we want, and ultimately align our minds with the truth of what we are beyond bodies, appearances, circumstances, and return our minds to the peace, love, joy, and harmony that belongs to us without delay.

Expanding our consciousness is the return to onemindedness where we recognize the truth of our part in a unified field of awareness and experience the evidence for ourselves.

We can simplify this process when we work with a framework that allows us to integrate the intellectual idea into our daily lives. This gives us a form of structure to realize higher truths within our own subjective awareness through the everyday experiences and opportunities we have to do this inner work and turn the whole thing into an adventure. There are many paths, systems, and tools we can use; they are all here to teach us how to master our intuition and access the higher frequencies of being consistently and reliably.

The framework we are using here comes from the 64 themes from the I Ching, The Book of Changes, an ancient book that is still very present in our current civilizations because it contains timeless wisdom that we can now update to reflect our current state of expansion. What follows from here is a gentle introduction to the 64 lessons we master as we expand our consciousness.

Expanding consciousness diagram - from duality to non-dualism, self-realization to enlightenment

The outcome and goal of the process of expanding our consciousness is to live from the truth of what we are as one field of conscious awareness that is constantly sharing information. In the form that humans are we do this by creating a life that we truly love to live, that is in alignment with the truth of our spiritual / non-physical / energetic nature. We are the same creative force that manifests the world we think we see. Our creative potential is unlimited, and through our subjective endeavors we inspire our collective creative empowerment to create the kind of experiences we love to live. (1 Creating)

The way we achieve this goal is by bringing all parts of ourselves into harmonious union. From the individual atoms, cells, parts of our personalities, roles we play, abilities we have, to the forms and bodies we perceive as outside of ourselves. Expanding our consciousness is the process of integrating awareness on all levels to unify our consciousness. (2 Union)

The process of expanding our consciousness requires our trust and willingness to engage life, our minds, and our experiences in a new way. It requires out trust because it is our conscious subjective relationship to the field of consciousness that determines our experiences and what becomes possible for us. We only need a little bit of trust that we can build on as we experience the evidence for ourselves. Our willingness is required because our free will allows us to choose when we want to engage life at this intimate level and grow in awareness of the truth of what we are. (3 Trusting)

As we expand our consciousness we are moving through levels of understanding, from the subjective, collective, to the abstract and symbolic. Every level transforms our perceptions and thereby our subjective experience. (4 Understanding)

The process develops patience, our ability to recognize our timelessness, and live in a state of harmonious flow. When we contemplate time from a timeless perspective we are expanding our consciousness in a profound way that transcends limiting beliefs and perspectives. (5 Flow)

On this journey we cultivate skills like inner strength and receive gifts that empower us. As we expand our ability to understand we begin to experience the gift of inner peace. Inner peace is a state of being that is no longer in conflict with itself. The truth of who we are requires no defenses, with ourselves or anything, because we can recognize we are part of one field that is interconnected and that exists in a state of unity that reflects peace. To integrate sincere inner peace we must ask ourselves what kind of perspective we must have to understand it, and for it to make perfect sense. Every experience, event, and situation can be an opportunity to expand our consciousness to the kind of perspective that is needed to affirm our choice for higher truth and thereby peace. Inner peace is unconditional; it does not rely on appearances or circumstances. (6 Peace)

When we are expanding our consciousness  we are guiding ourselves through higher truth. We cultivate this ability through our relationship with our higher mind. Our higher mind is the part of our awareness that is in complete union with everything in the field of awareness, it understands everything, and it remembers the truth because it exists as the unchanging part of us. We recognize our higher mind through the frequency of thoughts, ideas, intuitive communication, and empathic awareness that is always in alignment with peace, love, joy, and harmony. It is always guiding us towards unity, understanding, and empowerment. We are expanding our subjective awareness to meet it. (7 Guided)

Our connection with our higher mind enables us to discover our unique expression of higher truth. It becomes the frequency which we transmit through every kind of format and platform that we use to experience our authentic nature, and the truth of who we are. Our ability to express higher truth in our unique way is intimately linked with our unique design and destiny, which is our path to the greatest degree of joy and fulfillment. (8 Expression)

All subjective awareness in every kind of form is on a unique path to higher self-awareness. This is our step-by-step process to the higher frequencies of being. Every event and experience is a part of this process because expanding our consciousness is the only thing that is truly happening. Our unique process engages our enthusiasm, and it requires our determination because it unravels the entire world of appearances. (9 Determination)

The step-by-step process is the journey we go through to learn how to live in a state of higher self-awareness. In this state we are we are living from the truth of what we are, we are constantly recognizing the truth in ourselves and everything we think we perceive and experience. Our subjective awareness is focused on our higher mind and the truths that govern this expansive thought system. Our experience of life becomes light and simple because we recognize there is nothing else happening but the expansion of our awareness. (10 Being)

In the state of higher self-awareness we become capable of recognizing the phenomenon of the world as a form of dream. As we expand our consciousness we realize we have the power to choose the kind of dream we want to experience because it is determined by our inner environment and what we give our focus, attention, and intention to. Dreaming of heaven on earth stimulates our imagination and concentration to form the type of dream we desire and create from within because it is in alignment with the peace, love, joy, and harmony that reflects our eternal nature. (11 Dreaming).

Creating in this way cultivates discernment as we learn to consistently make choices that truly serve us, our collective expansion, and the sincere peace, love, joy, and harmony that is in alignment with the unified nature of consciousness. It is predominantly through our discernment that we refine our ability to withdraw our investment in the old dream of separation and invest every moment into the heaven of unity. All ideas can be integrated harmoniously into a perspective where everything is understood, accepted, embraced, and known. (12 Discerning)

As we expand our consciousness we become more aware of our attunement with the unified field of awareness, and this affects our physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental perceptions and experiences. Empathy is the way the entire field shares awareness. It is the innate form of telepathy that connects all things, allows us to listen, and share in the awareness. Through our empathy we can allow every experience to serve a higher purpose that reminds us of the truth of who we are. Empathy creates the type of relationships that are governed by our higher mind that are mutually beneficial, serve our greater good, and our collective expansion. (13 Empathy)

Our empathic connection with our higher mind prepares us to receive higher awareness and everything we need or can use every day. We prepare ourselves by being receptive to the field of awareness and trusting that we always receive whatever is for our greatest benefit at any given time. Our subjective part in this process is opening ourselves to receive by filling ourselves with the most empowering beliefs and ideas that bring our minds into alignment with the nature of unity and onemindedness. (14 Receiving)

Through this ongoing process we learn that the universal currency is the frequency of love. Opening ourselves to receive all that we need from the universe is the ability to yield to love and infusing ourselves with the frequency of love. Love is the glue of the universe and the entire field of consciousness. The field of awareness is one united self-awareness phenomenon that can best be described as love with no opposite. When something is truly united as one it has no opposite. Duality is the illusion of separation that belongs to the lower frequencies of awareness that are ultimately irrelevant, superficial, and temporary. Unity is love, eternal, timeless, unchanging, and it contains all things, together as one. When we align ourselves with the frequency of love we amplify our potential in every way imaginable because it is what we truly are and we are simply embodying our authentic nature, and that affects everything. (15 Yielding)

To experience the truth of what we are we focus our subjective awareness only on the things we truly want, that are in alignment with the truth of what we are, that are timeless, and that lead to peace, love, joy, and harmony that are unconditional. This is why the process of expanding our consciousness requires trust, determination, and discernment. (16 Focus)

To focus our attention and intention on what we truly want and value most we actively choose to continuously expand our perspective on every idea, experience, situation, and everything that we think we perceive. We expand our perspective on everything to see the truth in everything. This aligns our minds with our higher mind. (17 Seeing)

As we expand our perspective we are transcending all judgments which are simply limitations we place on ourselves, others, situations, and the phenomenon of consciousness. When everything is one, we are both the fire and the wood that burns, and there is no judgment necessary in that. When we have released ourselves from judgments we are free to observe life from a higher frequency of perception that allows us to live with integrity. (18 Integrity)

Our ability to use the power of observation lies in our willingness to be completely open and receptive to whatever is observed, as if seeing something for the very first time without any preconceived ideas or opinion about what it is, should be, or what we may want it to be. Through silent observation we can experience the truth of something that is beyond the limitations of the intellect. (19 Observation)

Through observation we are cultivating the ability to empty ourselves to be completely present with the field of awareness. We are essentially embodying the universal presence that permeates all things, everywhere, and all time. This is a tangible quality of being where we know ourselves as the field of awareness. Presence is the quintessence of expanding our consciousness. (20 Presence)

Every challenge in the step-by-step process to higher self-awareness and the expansion of our consciousness is an opportunity to discover the gold it contains for us. Our unique challenges are our gifts for expansion. The key to embracing challenges are to do so with an open, inquisitive, and growth mindset. We simply transcend the lower frequencies without engaging it. (21 Endeavor)

It is our choice to allow every experience to lift us higher to discover our sincere and authentic nature. We are elevating our minds to an entirely new way of being, thinking, and doing. (22 Elevation)

We are learning how to simplify everything in our lives beautifully to bring us into alignment with the sincere peace, love, joy, and harmony that we want. When everything is one, then everything is fundamentally simple. Expanding our consciousness is transcending the complexity that obscures and integrating everything into a harmonious whole. (23 Simplicity)

Through this process we are returning our minds to the state of love that we can only fully experience and appreciate in silence because it is all encompassing and transcends every idea, thought, or word we could ever imagine. We master our mental activity with the recognition that the thoughts and ideas can only take us so far because they become obsolete before the direct experience of the truth. (24 Silence)

Accepting everything and everyone as it is at any moment is the fastest way to release any resistance we may have to experience the truth and universal love. (25 Acceptance)

Our sincere peace, joy, and the direct experience of universal love comes from being in service to our higher mind. This is because it is the only thing that is of real value. Living a life being in service to our higher mind is the fulfillment of the design and destiny that are imprinted in our subjective awareness. It is the unique role we come to play in our return to onemindedness, and we recognize it through the highest frequencies being that we experience when we are living it. (26 Play)

Embracing our design and destiny is the way we learn how to live a life doing what we love because what we give we receive when everything is one. Doing what we sincerely and authentically love, that is in alignment with the truth of what we are, is about living in the frequency of love. (27 Giving)

When we are living in the frequency of love it becomes much easier to embrace all parts of ourselves and others as we go through the process of psychological integration and expanding our consciousness beyond the subjective awareness we think we are. (28 Embracing)

We become devoted to living in the frequency of love and whatever we do in that frequency is the way we uniquely serve a higher purpose. Everything can and is ultimately used to serve a higher purpose because of the fluid and abstract nature of consciousness and the symbolic world of appearances. (29 Devoted)

All our desires are fundamentally the desire for unconditional universal love that comes from knowing the truth of what we are. As long as we perceive it elsewhere we are attempting to use substitutes. They can serve a higher purpose as we go through the process of clearing our system and learning how to channel all desires into the desire for the truth. Our willingness to master our desires allows them to be translated. To experience clarity we must want and ask for the truth in everything. (30 Desire)

Our willingness to master our desires and aspire higher expands our consciousness and takes us through the process of leading ourselves to be the best we can be. Our best is being an example of what it looks like to live from the truth of what we are. The kind of leadership and influence we truly recognize, respect, and want to follow comes from the higher frequencies of being. Our certainty, trust, and confidence can be extended to other parts of ourselves. (31 Leading)

It is our commitment to the process of expanding our consciousness with a timeless perspective that ensures our success. Every moment we invest in what has lasting value beyond time and space is beyond the comprehension of the intellect because it is in alignment with our true nature and destiny. What we invest in is our choice and our power. It becomes easier as we experience the freedom and unconditional peace, love, joy, and harmony that comes from walking our unique path and following our step-by-step process that is guided by our higher mind. (32 Committed)

The choice to invest in the peace, love, joy, and harmony that is our inheritance is the choice to remember everything about our true nature. When we withdraw from the temporary and superficial world of appearances we are aspiring to integrate higher truth. This is essentially allowing ourselves to be reprogrammed with the higher frequencies of being. It requires our willingness to contemplate, be mindful, ask to remember, and focus our mind on the ideas and thoughts that aligns us with the unchanging memory of who we are. We are all here to remember, it is the release of everything that is not in alignment with our true nature, and every mind goes through this as we return to onemindedness, which is a shared purpose for the truth. (33 Remembering)

We recognize those who are empowered through higher self-awareness because it reminds us of the truth, and this kind of self-empowerment becomes more attractive as we reach our time for transformation. Being empowered through higher self-awareness affects every aspect of our lives and experience because we are functioning from a higher frequency of being where much more becomes possible. As we expand our consciousness we recognize the jumps in awareness where new possibilities become accessible. We learn how to take empowered actions, give empowered responses, live according to empowering beliefs, and empower ourselves through empowered thinking. (34 Empowered)

It is through our quest for self-empowerment that we can consciously engage life as the greatest adventure possible. When we choose to experience life as a spiritual adventure we open our minds to exploring new ways of being, thinking, and doing that allows us make the most of every challenge, opportunity, experience, and the gifts we receive. (35 Exploration)

To experience life as a spiritual adventure we learn to experience emotions with compassion. Our self-compassion allows us to resolve the past and approach experiences with emotional freedom. We can then extend our sincere compassion to others because we know within ourselves how we expand our ability to integrate awareness and what it takes to transcend the limiting beliefs that can keep us entangled with emotional waves. Compassion is one of our valuable gifts we master in the process of expanding our consciousness because it allows us to cultivate a victimless mindset. (36 Emotion)

A victimless mindset is emotionally free, and it allows us to recognize our united nature where everyone is an equally irreplaceable part in our oneness. Everyone and everything ultimately has the same destiny; it just appears to happen in different ways and at different times because of the illusion of separation. Our victimless mindset allows us to let everything be as it is without interference because we have confidence in who we are, our individual step-by-step process to higher self-awareness, and our spiritual power. (37 Equality)

It is through a victimless mindset that we truly embrace the tension for transformation that comes from the temporary discomfort we experience as we expand our consciousness. Our expanded perspective allows us to recognize the value and purpose in every opportunity that allows us to transcend ourselves. In this way we also become more willing to be the tension for transformation for others because we recognize how we are designed to be of service to one another. (38 Perseverance)

As we persevere with the process of expanding our consciousness we liberate our minds from taking anything personal. We can see that there is nothing personal going on because we are playing every part. The idea of a separate ego is recognized as a limiting perception that comes from thinking that bodies are our true form. This is simply a mistake in identity that is corrected from a higher perspective. Along with this correction everything we thought we were is translated to the truth and we can withdraw our projections on the world, people, and things. (39 Liberation)

When we are no longer taking anything personal we are surrendering to higher self-awareness. We are no longer living as a body from the limited perspective of an individual identity but from the higher truth of what we are as one self that is everything. We can embrace the power of solitude because we know there is nothing to be and nowhere to go. Everything we could ever need or want is right where we are and everything that is meant for us can come to us. (40 Surrender)

This profound shift is perception allows us to sincerely appreciate all of life because our perspective is united. Appreciation amplifies our ability to access higher frequencies of being and the refined experiences of peace, love, joy, and harmony that fill our being. (41 Appreciation)

Our appreciation is one of the greatest gifts that allows us to balance the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects of our being and release all the limiting beliefs that we work through in the process of expanding our consciousness. (42 Balance)

We become inspired through higher self-awareness. Innovation, insights, and inspiration come from our higher mind. The process of expanding our consciousness brings us into alignment with the higher frequencies of information and solutions that are waiting for us. Everyone has an innate form of genius that is built into our design. We simply become more aware of it and learn how to tap into it as we master ourselves and practice the skills and abilities we are naturally enthusiastic about. All worlds expand in this way because it is the kind of progress and innovation that is in alignment with the truth of who we are. Only that which is built with the frequency of love has the ability to last because it is coherent and in harmony with universal frequencies. (43 Inspired)

We share in the ability to communicate higher self-awareness to one another and everything around us because it is the extension of our higher mind. The higher purpose of the body is the ability to share higher self-awareness through our thoughts, words, actions, and feelings. Our simple presence has the ability to uplift and transform others. Remembering the truth of what we are in the presence of others have a profound effect on our collective journey to onemindedness. (44 Sharing)

We are reclaiming our power as individuals and then we gather together in mutually beneficial relationships that are in service of our higher mind because we share a common goal for the truth and focus on the peace, love, joy, and harmony that we truly want. This is the plan for onemindedness that has always existed because it is beyond time and the world of appearances. Our deepest desire is for this inner reunion with ourselves. (45 Gathering)

Our attitude towards ourselves, others, and life determines the kind of experiences we have on our spiritual adventure. A delightful attitude that is open, accepting, understanding, loving, and peaceful aligns us with the truth of what we are and therefore allows us to experience the highest frequencies of joy, love, magic, synchronicities, wonder, and the kind of adventure we love. Our attitude towards the process of expanding our consciousness is our choice. (46 Delight)

A light attitude allows us to embrace the power of alchemy to transmute all lower frequency energy into higher frequencies. This profound inner transformation reprograms us from fear to love, and it happens in the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects of our being because they are fundamentally the same. (47 Transmutation)

Through our willingness to engage life with a positive attitude and transmute everything to love and peace we learn how to trust in our resourcefulness. As one field of awareness we share in the abundance of everything that belongs to us. Consciousness is the eternal and limitless source of everything, and we are it. We have access to everything we need and could ever want that is in alignment with our authentic joy, our unique path to higher self-awareness, and everything that is meant for us. (48 Resourceful)

We go through  a powerful process of transformation where we are literally changing our entire belief and thought systems. This radical transformation changes our entire perspective and perception. It teaches us about what we truly want and what we need to do in order to experience the unconditional peace, love, joy, and harmony that is our natural state. (49 Change)

This process of transformation is a part of the journey that teaches us how to create harmony within and without. It is an alchemical process of refinement that happens in every aspect of our life as we master the lessons that lead to self-realization and the higher frequencies of being. (50 Harmony)

We are awakened to this process through our unique catalysts. These experiences come to shake us awake to the truth of what we are, what we are capable of, and how to become authentically fearless on our spiritual adventure. (51 Awakened)

Our safe haven comes from the point of stillness within ourselves where we connect with our source, our higher mind, and the truth of who we are. Every moment we immerse ourselves in the stillness is more valuable that anything the world of appearances could ever offer. The relationship we form with the higher mind in this space can provide us with everything we need because it is everything. It is us, and above all else it desires our union. Mastering action with inaction is one of the most profound lessons on the journey to expanding our consciousness. (52 Stillness)

The expansion of our consciousness is a gradual process because we are literally translating everything to higher truth. Our only choice in this process is to delay or ask for the fastest path. (53 Expanding)

Through this process we are continuously transcending ourselves and integrating all the empowering beliefs that align us with sincere and unconditional peace, love, joy, and harmony without compromising. (54 Transcendence)

We have all the opportunities we need to teach us complete mental and emotional freedom. (55 Freedom)

We learn how to choose the most nourishing sources of fulfillment in every aspect of our lives. The most nourishing sources of fulfillment come from the thoughts and beliefs that align us with the sincere and unconditional peace, love, joy, and harmony. We become willing to release the mental attachments to all the symbols and substitutes we made because we can recognize what is truly of lasting value beyond bodies, appearances, and circumstances. (56 Wondering)

Our intuition is our compass and the inner guidance that comes from our direct connection with our higher mind. It communicates constantly and consistently. Our intuition is always guiding us in harmony with the frequencies of peace, love, joy, and authentic empowerment. It functions optimally when we are in a coherent state that we know as a positive state of mind and the experience of inner equilibrium. Our experience of this guidance can vary from inner visions, sounds, smells, feelings, and simply knowing without thinking. We master our intuition with practice and our intention to recognize, listen, and trust it. (57 Intuitive)

Our greatest form of inner guidance is the frequency of joy that can light our way. Our authentic joy aligns us with the kind of life we are designed to live and the way we are meant to be of service. As we expand our consciousness we grow in our ability to experience the unconditional joy that comes from simply knowing the truth of what we are and living in a state of higher self-awareness. (58 Joy)

Our sincerity, transparency, and complete honesty allows us to experience the intimacy that comes from recognizing and accepting our onemindedness. We all have our unique experiences that affirm the truth for us in our own way. These are the magical, wonderful, mind-bending, and surprising events and synchronicities that show us the truth of who we are without any doubts. These experiences become valuable resources for ourselves and others as we learn to listen to the one voice of the higher mind. This kind of intimacy is beyond bodies, appearances, and circumstances. (59 Transparency)

The most powerful tool we have in the process of expanding our consciousness is our intentions because they instantly communicate to the entire field of awareness. Our intentions orchestrate the world we think we experience because of our creative power and the nature of consciousness. We decide what something is for, consciously or subconsciously. Nothing is random. It is just our degree of awareness that can appear to vary. Being intentional, and being conscious of our intentions are the way we make anything possible when it is in alignment with the truth of who we are and the greatest good. (60 Intention)

All the empowering beliefs, habits, rituals, and abilities that we cultivate on the path of expanding our consciousness become our inner truth that guides our way. We experience the evidence for ourselves through the events that allow us to cultivate the trust and confidence we need to become authentically self-empowered and live in a state of higher self-awareness. From our inner truth we live not as a body but as the truth of what we are. (61 Inner Truth)

Our potential is far beyond the limitations of the intellect. We are transcending the limitations of body consciousness as we recognize the energetic nature of our true self that functions through intuitive communication and empathic awareness. (62 Conserving)

Our inner knowing is cultivated through self-inquiry and our ability to respond inquisitively to everything we think we encounter. Every event, situation, and experience become an opportunity to learn the truth and aspire higher. (63 Knowing)

We experience the illumination of our consciousness when we continuously open to new possibilities in every way, ask for the truth, and open to receive. (64 Illuminated)

I Ching 64 Lesson 28 Embracing

I Ching Lesson 28 Embracing

I Ching 64 Lessons Spectrum Directory | Tribal Self | Physical Aspect | Wind | Role: Nurturer, to nurture.

Embracing

Accepting all parts of ourselves, and others.

Original Intuitive Geometry Yin Yang I Ching 28 Embracing Waves Lake Square Wind Spectrum Geometry Art by Nathalie Strassburg

Our consciousness consists of different parts. Our conscious personality is made of a spectrum of roles, actors, and players. Stillness

Balancing action with inaction.

Original Intuitive Geometry Yin Yang I Ching 52 Stillness Mountain Pentagon Spectrum Geometry Art by Nathalie Strassburg

One of our most profound achievements is the ability to be still. Stillness is our creative and spiritual foundation. It is the one place where everything can come together, the conscious, subconscious, and super-conscious.

Knowing

Responding inquisitively.

Original Intuitive Geometry Yin Yang I Ching 63 Knowing Water Fire Spiral Spectrum Geometry Art by Nathalie Strassburg

Life is an adventure of discovering and knowing ourselves. The experience of doubt, uncertainty, and suspicion are reflections of our, often unconscious, desire to know ourselves.

The more we know ourselves the more we live with an open mind and heart because the fear and resistance associated with doubt dissipates when we use it for our benefit. It does not matter whether there is a definite answer because the mere act of inquiry expands our consciousness and allows us to aspire to understand higher universal truths.

Each lesson has levels of integration from intellectual understanding, personal realization, and then higher truth and embodiment.
